DIY BEE HOTEL WORKSHOP

Organised and ran a paid workshop for the public around Australian native bee species and the role they play in biodiversity in urban ecosystems. Promoted the talk and workshop in local areas, community groups and online through social media. I gave a talk to around 15 attendants (sold out) about the benefits of encouraging native bees into their gardens, and how to use DIY and recycled materials to build a bee hotel habitat. Each attendant was able to build their own “bee hotel” from prepared materials, to bring home and install in their own garden boosting the biodiversity of their home gardenRequired research, expert knowledge and communication skills to convey complex ideas and information about ecology and conservation to a wide audience.
